SAHMS- Scatternet Assisted Health Monitoring System

چکیده
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is one of the accelerated technologies which consign solutions to critical application environments. It allows the integration of medical sensors to form a group scenario which makes it viable to remotely collect and communicate the physiological signals of a patient, thus preventing the patient from being tied to a particular set of monitoring medical instruments and thereby facilitate the patient’s prior acquittal from the hospital. The medical sensors used are integrated with Bluetooth radio technology and further allowing the sensor nodes to form a Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN). Use of Bluetooth technology limits the number of sensor nodes to be attached to the human body as seven (piconet). So in order to increase the number of sensor nodes that is adhered to the human body using Bluetooth radio technology a scatternet of sensor nodes i.e. network of piconets can be formed. To create such a network on the body, initial analysis of WBAN has been done. We already proposed a framework for WBAN which discusses the working of the WBAN in three phases and the parameters which influence the working of each phase. This paper discusses the implementation the first phase of the framework and analyzes the extent to which the scalability of bio sensors is supported by the framework when a scatternet of sensor nodes is formed by checking the performance

A Flexible Scatternet-wide Scheduling Algorithm for Bluetooth Networks
Bluetooth is a promising technology which enables the design of low-power, small-sized, low-cost radios that can be embedded in existing portable devices. Due to the limitation of a single channel capacity, scatternet techniques are proposed to increase the communication bandwidth. However, since a bridge may be shared by several piconets, simultaneous polling the bridge may result in bridge co...

متن کاملAn analysis of Bluetooth scatternet topologies
Bluetooth technology is intended primarily as a replacement of cables between electronic devices, as in Personal Area Networks (PANs), or for connecting the components of a computer system. In addition, larger topologies of so-called “scatternets” are targeting wider geographical area applications in factories, warehouses, shopping malls and various sensor network applications. Though some earl...
متن کاملA Self-Routing Topology for Bluetooth Scatternets
The emerging Bluetooth standard is considered to be the most promising technology to construct ad-hoc networks. It contains specifications on how to build a piconet but left out the details on how to automatically construct a scatternet from the piconets. Existing solutions only discussed the scatternet formation issue without considering the ease of routing in such a scatternet. We present alg...
متن کاملAssisted Reproductive Technology in Iran: The First National Report on Centers, 2011
Objective Due to the worldwide increase in infertility, it is both necessary and important to have assisted reproductive technology (ART) registries. In Iran, donation and surrogacy programs are approved by decrees from religious scholars. ART has been used since 1984 in Iran and the first Iranian infant conceived by gamete intra-fallopian transfer (GIFT) was born in 1989. This report, however,...
